Welcome! My name is Megan Reimer and I am a May 16, 2009 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education after completing my student teaching experience in the State College Area School District. My emphasis is in Instrumental Music, and I received the Performer's Certificate in Oboe Performance, but I am also an experienced pianist.
As you navigate through this portfolio you will discover much information about me as a person, musician, and future educator. I have included an extensive resume, my educational history, many resources collected during my student teaching experience, and a page dedicated to musicianship and performance experience.
During the 2009 - 2010 year, I served as a Substitute Teacher for the Hollidaysburg Area School District, the Altoona Area School District, and the State College Area School District. I fulfilled a long-term substitute music position for the Altoona Area School District as well as the Hollidaysburg Area School District. I am the pianist for St. Peter's United Church of Christ in State College, PA, and I maintain a private studio of piano and oboe students. I also serve as a piano accompanist and musician for weddings and special occasions around Central Pennsylvania.
Presently, I am a graduate student and Instrumental Academic Intern at Temple University working towards a Master of Music Degree in Oboe Performance. I am studying with Peter Smith, Associate Principal Oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
I am currently seeking a position in (K-12) Instrumental Music Education or General Music Education.
